The 6lbs dredge fish weight is approx 7.5" long from nose to tail, add .5" for the rear brass ring, bringing the total length to 8".
Width is approx 3.25" from peck wing to wing.

Tail grommets are an additional grommet in the tail of the flap (same grommet that's in the nose). This is often used when rigging chains or multiple flaps in line with one another.

This sounds like a great topic for an upcoming rigging video, thanks for the idea. However, a simple way to accomplish this is to make a mono loop end through the nose grommet, crimp, add egg sinker, then add your mini chugger of choice. We generally add 3-4 feet of mono then add another loop end to connect to your teaser line or back of a squid chain. Stay tuned for the video tutorial. We do sell this in a completed chain HERE.

The weight really depends on a few different factors including the overall size of the dredge. However, our most popular weight is 8lbs. If your looking to get a standard size dredge down at 7knts or so, 8lbs fish weight should be sufficient. The faster you go, the bigger the dredge, the more weight you need.

If you're pulling this dredge at dead bait speeds (4-5knts) to slower lure speeds (5-7knts) we would recommend a 6lb fish weight.
